The label was invented by the Europeans hundreds of years ago. However, until the first industrial revolution, took place in the second half of the 18th century and the first half of the 19th century, began the process of mechanization, labor productivity increased dramatically, trade expanded following with the rapid growth of the label and printing industry.

At first, labels were used with rubber glue to stick on the surface of the product. As the market growed, the competition was more and more fierce, manufacturers were constantly improving the quality and appearance of products. The more beautiful the product, the more likely it is to impress and convince the buyers. The explosion of demand for high-end labels and performance requirements has prompted the label industry to move to new heights.

In 1930, a new invention contributing to a complete change of the label industry was called self-adhesive labels. Self-adhesive labels are made from a main material called self-adhesive materials. This material is composed of four main components: face stock layer, adhesive layer (attached to the underside of the face stock layer), release liner with a silicon layer covered. The silicon layer prevents the adhesive under the surface from sticking to the liner when the two layers are joined together. Content will be printed on the face stock layer. When using, just remove the release liner and stick the face stock layer into the surface to be sticked.

The forming of self-adhesive material

Thus, rubber label for sticking do not guarantee the aesthetic and very low productivity. Self-adhesive material allows the creation of a self-adhesive label with a very thin glue layer that will completely solve the aesthetic and productivity issues.

Self-adhesive materials are available on most types of printing technology and allow hand-applied, automatic sticking applications on extremely high productivity.

In the beginning, self-adhesive materials were mainly made from paper but later on, the product design technique was more and more developed, the aesthetics of packaging became more and more perfect. The application of labels on the product also becomes more diverse and complex. Accordingly, self-adhesive surface materials are developed with plastic films, fabrics... Even some types of membranes are also used for the release liner to meet for some special applications.

Plastic Decal Label

In addition to the usual labeling, self-adhesive materials also allow for very special applications such as anti-counterfeit stamps, security stamps, seals…

VOID Seal Label

Self-adhesive materials not only contribute to the development of the label industry but also convey the essence and meaning that manufacturers want to send users to lively.
